If you think a woman’s place is in the kitchen and bedroom, then you do not know your history. Women contributed immensely during the pre-colonial and after colonisation worldwide. European women participated in world war I which had changed the family structure. The women contributed so much at that time, due the fact the men went to war in other parts of the world, which were forced by the government. Unfortunately, in their situation, they were not applauded and appreciated because of the religious thinking that has instilled in the society about them, while in Africa is a different story
African women had an authority in each and everything going on in their kingdoms. They worked hand-in-hand with Men, as it was believed that both men and women are equal but contemplate each other because the story of a man being a head while a woman is subordinate was a foreign concept to many African kingdoms. Which is why unity between African men and women was stronger at that time. Thus, it attracted the attention of those who wanted to colonise Africa yet they couldn’t get their way in because of the kind of women they encountered in different regions from Africa because they were properly trained for such events
African women participated in war during the population decrease of men, through natural death incidents or men going to other parts of Africa to defend their kingdoms. It is said that the strength of an African woman was not to be joked about with the Europeans and other African kingdoms, which they saw an opportunity to seize and dominate since men were scarce. As much as there were such incidents occurred in other parts of Africa due to this situation, in such areas, women were the ones to initiate and start war against such people to a point of brutality and murder against them
African women fought against colonisation. They fought against men and women who where in high authority in the kingdom such counsels, kings, queens and chiefs that were selling their own brothers and sisters to slavery for materialism. They also fought after colonisation for political and economic recognition, which pushed African countries to get political independence from the European countries and start their own territory
Despite their efforts, they are not remembered and overlooked by the society due to the masculine religious mindset being instilled by Europeans. Which is why in today’s Africa, there are so many issues women face daily, the sad part of it our African men contribute to this, which the society teaches them to dominate and crush women instead of being good leaders of the society. African women till this day are not recognised by the society despite of the efforts of recognition from the mainstream media and many organisations which includes their human rights from UN(United Nations), there many issues that still need some addressing. Harassment, lack of power and authority in a personal and work field, is still a major problem to many African women. Very few still have access to household, political and economical authority while the rest are excluded which makes them vulnerable to being abused and harassed by the society
We need to change this mentality about men and women because it is not invented by our own ancestors but colonisers. A woman in general is not meant to be a subordinate nor lower than a man as it is believed in the society. A woman’s place is not in a kitchen and the bedroom because she is a Goddess and one with the Universe. She is highly spiritually connected which makes her the brain of her husband’s success, this is why people say, behind a successful man, there is a woman.
And my message to women, since they are more connected to the spiritual world, they should use their powers for the good instead for their selfish gain. So many times, I notice many women using their sacred power to secure an unhappy marriage, a gucci bag or money bag. They use their powers for the wrong reasons instead of using them to do inner-work and healing, so that they can attract the right things and people in their lives. This is another reason there is so much disunity amongst women themselves. Women sadly follow the unjust rules of the society which destroys their femininity. Many women are unconsciously worn out both spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically because they are more masculine which puts them in the survival mode. If you realise your feminine side is more powerful than your masculine side, this will make your life better and happier, including your surroundings
It is high time we know who we are than what the media, family, or society tells us who we are. We are more powerful than anything. We are the Creators of the spiritual and physical realm. We are Chosen to restore the balance in this world with our femininity, and it is time use our powers correctly
