LOVE HAITI by Futuristic K Molapo
Beach and Afro Latino vibes are the most considered aspects while visiting the Caribbean. The culture is almost the same as Continental Africa but the difference is the mindset of people who are living there. Our mindset in the Continental Africa is different from the Caribbean as this will help us teach one another one or two things from each other. This will expand our minds and help us understand each other views without judging each other because of our different backgrounds. As a person who is a South Africa origin, I often listen to their music, dive deeper into their culture, to find that most of their culture originates from West Africa. That is how the slave Atlantic happened, the colonialists took some of our African brothers and sisters from West Africa to be slaves in the unknown lands, to establish business industries and to develop their territory, they also mixed their bloodline with theirs and hence why some of our Africans living in the Caribbean have a curly hair and even at that, the lifestyle is mixed in with Spanish, French with African vibe. Though one of the groups that were taken to those lands, resisted to mix their bloodlines with their slave masters. They also resisted religious and political ideologies from the white colonisers and that occurred when they used strong spiritual powers such as voodoo magic and Guns against these people and that is how they became one of the first people from Africa to gain independence in the 1800s
The White slave master couldn’t help seeing Haiti getting independence so they decide to spread negativity around about the country in the media and as well through travelling references, as they knew that it will push people to not to visit for tourism purposes, but regardless of that, people still visit Haiti and they love it more than ever despite the challenges it faces from the white washed media
Haiti is one of the beautiful places one can travel too. It’s lifestyle attracts tourists from all over the
world through beach life and carnival dancing. The county has the most beautiful sites to visit and create remarkable memories with while you travelling back home bye bye. Here are Sites to visit that shall never make you regret
Petion Ville
While you look to book for a hotel in London or New York’s of this world, consider going to Petion Ville. One the most beautiful and wealthiest suburb in the country. The streets have a nice night-life if you are a grooviest during the night and a good nurture nature day if you are an introvert
Galerie D’ Art
An Art Museum that have drawings and visuals of the Haitians telling their own stories, history and daily life experiences, This the best place I would recommend anyone to visit while in Haiti. To get to know the history and life experiences of a typical Haitian to get more knowledge, who knows, the inspiring art work that you need for your house or someone special might be in this gallery
Martissant Park
Mother Nature will always be available whenever we are ready. Greener pastures of this park brings me to peace to plan the time I decide to visit Haiti, I should visit it. I love the sound of silence and peace whenever I want to connect with the Source. This is a right place for one who crave a deeper connection with Nature or even a deeper connection with him/herself. Picnics are also a thought if
one wants to host it, though my advise is to check with Area authorities if this is allowed
Saint Pierre
Self therapy is one the aspects one needs. It helps improve ones mental and spiritual health, it is not necessarily about meditating and yoga, but is about observing the moment while watching people, buildings and things the circumstances they are in while around you. You will that instant comforting in your ear that says “you are not alone”.One of the beautiful sites if one wants to take a breezy walk in the streets of Petion Ville, this is good place to go to
Fort Jacques et Fort Alexandre
Very rich in history and culture of Haiti, the place was built in the independence of 1804 by Alexandre Petion in the honour of Jacques Dessalines; who was one of the strong leaders in the revolutionary against the French colonialists. It was built for strategic military base for soldiers to live there at that time but strangely no has encountered any army struggles. This will always remain in hearts and souls of Haiti as it brings a strong historical significance to Mama Africa and her children
Jacmel
Outside Port Au Prince, in the South of Haiti, The City has extraordinary and stylish colonial styled buildings, including the 19th- Century Maison Cadet. The City is also known for having a beautiful beach and pools fed by waterfalls and rocks which is called Bassin-Bleu in English is Blue Waters.
Annual Carnival events are mostly taken place in the City to enhance the culture of their own African Ancestry and to attract more tourists
Dedication to Haiti
My wish for my fellow Haitians is to get the justice they longed for especially the challenges they have faced from time to time; including with the Earth Quake event that has taken place by 2010; which is a symbol that we need to stick together as Africans and Unite against all odds. My wish is when I visit Haiti one day, it shall become vibrant as it was before and that all the political turmoil
must come to an end. Peace for Haiti. Wakanda forever!
