Traditionally men build the what is called “Sukhala” houses while women decorate and paint them.
Materials used to build and paint these houses are Earth’s natural resources such as soil,wood and straw for architectural and climate purposes
During the time of the house is built before being painted, the Gurunsi People have to wait for a lizard to enter their home for indication of the ownership and quality of the house but if the lizard has not entered the household, the house is demolished and have to built from scratch from somewhere else where the lizard can accept the ownership of the house.
“Sukhala“, a famous building known for its intended decoration purposes which shows their own African Ancestral historical art for centuries, it is now famously used as a modern design technique in modern housing and furniture
